As long as they sold it to someone who’ll let Lara Croft have FUN again, I think it’s for the best.

Me, watching literally every Cronenberg movie:
Little of what people say is “the truth” because nobody actually faces any negative consequences for bullshitting. Rather, hyperbole & nonsense can help you get more attention. There are things we could do about it, but little interest (on either the political left or right) about actually doing so.
I’m just glad Republicans are finally interested in grooming.
WHY DID WE EVEN FIGHT THE REDCOATS!?
Also it should go without saying that private equity in particular buying Ubisoft would no doubt lead to pump and dump cuts and leave current developers there in an even more precarious position.
Isn’t private equity that thing where some company swoops in to buy another flailing company, loads it with debt to boost stock price and then sell when they have achieved their goal, leaving whatever remains with the debt problems? That thing where the CEO class wins and the rest loses?
Occasionally whenever there’s ubisoft news, I can’t help but let my mind wander to the Vivendi’s hostile take over attempt from a while back and wonder how things might have turned out had that gone through. Would the company be under by this point? Would it be worse? Would it still have the chronic sexual abuse…
If you think about it, this tells you all you need to know about Republicans. After all, Disney has been producing content with (background and hardly emphasized) depictions of homosexuality for a number of years now, but it’s only after they decided to stop funding Republicans that it’s become an issue.
In the immortal words of Switch from the Matrix, “Not like this”
What’s great is:
I remember Strange Fruit in Still Crazy finding their plaster casts from back in the day, but I didn’t realize the movie was shouting out to someone real.
I really don’t think so. Don certainly is a man of faults, and displays the sexism and casual racism common to men of his generation, but he seems to be somebody who is aware that he is flawed and wants to be a better person — that’s why he was so fascinated by the hippie commune in the finale — he admired their…
We also had the Civil War, yet Trump supporters were still wearing Camp Auschwitz shirts and carrying Confederate flags in the Capitol on 1/6. This is who Republicans are, and more and more of them are abandoning any pretense otherwise.
I love it...good job!
I’d rather a dozen shows about how our elites aren’t all that smart, all that good nor all that worthy of the wealth they wield b/c a lot of people need to learn that lesson.
I think this and WeCrashed are both interesting because they chronicle how completely unqualified founders managed to hide their bullshit in plain sight from supposedly intelligent and sophisticated people for a LONG time. Holmes surrounded herself with some of the most respected people in the country, who had NO…
To answer the question on was this show necessary, I would argue hell yes. Not just because I thought it was good, but because it focused on showcasing the harm that Holmes caused and how this wasn’t just an egoist or a financial grift.
