Brilliant concept art direction, story, etc. Art-deco, Dia de los Muertos-themed, bureaucratic underworld as the setting of a film noir? Perfect. I get the feeling Pixar’s Coco, er, “took inspiration” from it. Then again, the “bureaucratic hell” gag is reminiscent of Beetlejuice.

It’s borderline criminal that they never actually followed through with a sequel to Full Throttle.

I don’t know what you guys heard, but despite Chumbawumba being a political band, Tubthumping is about the night they saw their next-door neighbor come home so drunk, he kept falling down trying to open his door while singing”Danny Boy” off-key.

I replayed ‘Grim Fandango’ a couple of years ago. It holds up.

Maybe they should hire the people that make those games?

Maybe they’ll start making some LucasArts movies, like Monkey Island.

The first time I read the term “Spanish Fly” was in the book “Literary Rogues”, in the chapter about Marquis De Sade. Allegedly there was an incident of him and a friend getting a couple of prostitutes to overindulge in anise-flavored pastilles laced with Cantharindin, which is a fatty substance secreted by blister

But he’s also saying it would be totally awesome if you could give something to a woman that either makes her horny (the more charitable interpretation) or makes her unable to say no to sex. Clearly it’s a comedic bit, and not intended in a completely serious way and by itself it wouldn’t be damaging, but coming from

Are you serious? It’s been talked about a lot in the Black community. It was the Black community that called him out.

Hannibal Buress is arguably the person who publicized the allegations more than anyone else. Dave Chappelle talks about Cosby all the time. Tracy Morgan makes a joke about Cosby being a rapist on 3o Rock... back when he still had a pristine reputation.

As did Louie Anderson, AKA the wonderful Christine Baskets on Baskets.  RIP

That’s wild! very cool. (My friend was working on The Silence of the Lambs, and had to take that head that Clarice finds in a jar home for the evening because they didn’t have anywhere to store it where they were shooting. I was visiting at his apartment when he came home, so I have a photo of me holding the head!)

Undoubtedly there were complaints about “woke-ism.” Now it’s going to be zany antics and catch-phrases, nothing to slow down that flow of sweet, sweet, green. Unless someone notices the huge number not-Italian of guest workers …

I was walking up the Hope St. overpass (I think?) on my way to my waiter job in the Wells Fargo building and seeing a guy running up the street below with an assault rifle in in hand. It was a little alarming until I saw a guy with a steadicam rig running behind him.

Cosby is like school in the summertime.

“People need mohair for the fireplace, darling. To stoke the fire!” - one of my favorite quotes from him, I still remember hearing that, on an episode of Fashion Television in the mid-90s LOL

“Obviously what I did is wrong,” JiDion said, “but how am I supposed to do better the next time if I can never get a next time?”

Couch.

I’m still holding out for a brutally violent reimagining of Step By Step (preferably including a backdoor pilot to my dream project, Patrick Duffy The Vampire Slayer).

Honestly the surprise is that there hasn’t been a reboot of this series by now.
