He pivoted to the right wing because he knew accusations were coming. As a right wing darling, he could claim the accusations were an attempt to “cancel him” and they would gobble it up.

As someone on this website said at least once; Brand’s hard pivot to far right antivaxxer makes a lot more sense (apart from the antivaxxer bit) if you assume he was expecting accusers to come forward.

If anythin,g it sounds like jokes about gay panic have aged too well.

I can’t imagine having the stomach to watch a video about bombing Gaza.

Unless you count being born rich.

I’m disgusted with this man, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Country Western, as far as I can remember, was a safe space of sorts for racists.

Well unless someone actually saw the live action Inspector Gadget, it doesn’t matter if he’s shown in it. And that toy had him covered up by opaque plastic, meaning you still wouldn’t see his face unless you actually open the box and ruin the collector’s value.

Then maybe people shouldn’t be allowed to reach such levels of power to begin with.

Worse, rural Alberta.

One silver lining, I suppose, of being born (just) before the 80s is that I’m too old for this console wars bullshit (I’m also too poor, but I doubt that would change if I were younger).

I’m really, really conflicted about this reboot. I loved the original show, but I just can’t imagine a modern Dale Gribble not being a Q-Anon believer, or not taking part in the Jan 6th Insurrection.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think Doctor Doom, Kang, and most other comic villains (Marvel, DC or otherwise) could stand to be more petty and pathetic, not less.

Perhaps not quite the hot take I initially imagined, but:

Um, yeah, it probably didn’t help that “the project” they were “rushing to get to” also happened to be an alternate history show about “what if the Confederacy won?”

Probably because the writers are still mostly men, and are now more likely to become entirely AI instead of anything close to gender parity.

I’ve seen that episode but unfortunately, it misses something very important (two, if you count how strange it is the bartender still has his job); in the real world, it’s always the NON-executive jobs being replaced.
