Good rule of filmmaking: remind people of shitty movies if you want your film to look good by comparison. It also works in reverse (don't remind people of good movies during your shitty movie).

The reason William H Macy was paid more at first wasn't a gender thing, it was a "a known actor gets people to watch the show" thing. But now she deserves the same, since her character appears way more than his, and she is nude for this show a lot… but then again, so is he.
