hulu at one point had these ads for full length films where you watch a short ad, and do a quiz on it you watch the rest of the movie no ads. I know ads isn't the brightest of ideas on our part but it is one known use (with a different way for producers to fund through youtube ads)

Microsoft had this going at a good pace for a while with the live id (in its various name incarnations) but it never really gained any steam outside the MS world. Facebook is now doing this already, with so far a pretty far reach. I'd love to see google's aproach though.
