I've always been annoyed by parents that do that type of thing. I guess maybe if the child were a baby, or toddler, but she's a bit old for the whole high pitched "Yay you won a digital ball you'll never be able to touch, yay!".

So if you have a question you want to search on Google, you'd rather type: How far away is Mercury from earth, rather than say: Search How far away is Mercury from Earth?

I guess I just had lower expectations than the writer. I actually felt like I had pretty high expectations: Something that could understand me without making me talk like a robot, and could follow commands without me actually having to speak from a list of very specific commands.

Went to a flea market here in SA about a month ago and the ATM there wanted seven bucks, with that and the bank charges, 20.00 would have cost me almost 10.00!

It's not even about depth, it's about control. At this point that's the biggest advantage standalone portables have.

Beautiful? Looks creepy to me. I expect to see Oompa Loompas. Maybe some of the others are beautiful, but not that one.

That does look pretty nice.

Are you serious? I'm obviously including teens and tweens, because we have children in our family, don't know about yours.

Here's a tip, I personally just use 3G but you'll have a bunch of different people with different devices with different capabilities, so turn off your network security, even if just for a few hours, or change the password temporarily to something simple like "Thanksgiving", then post it somewhere for all to see.

Incandescent bulbs are: Considerably cheaper. Instant on. Are dimmable. Are three-way. There also used to be issues with the bases of CFL's being too thick for some sockets, and can still sometimes be an issue. They also temporarily loose light output in very cold weather.

Just like Money Train!

So just for the sake of argument, assuming that is true. You innovate, people copy your innovation, then you copy their innovation, and there's a problem with that?

Suppose I called you up tonight

Do you "call" shenanigans? I thought you did shenanigans?

I guess I can see how this will work for some people. I also know that AT&T charges 15.00 for their cheapest data plan, so 19 bucks a month for 100 more megs, and calls and texts, that's a pretty good deal.

I'm crazy 'bout your panarama.

Didn't you get the memo? Steve is dead.

Sometimes lugging is nice. If I were somewhere with shooting specifically in mind I'd rather have something that's meant to be held comfortably over time, rather than a phone.

Obviously Apple aged better, because the 07 device isn't that different physically from the 11 device, in fact some people probably prefer the aluminum backed 07 version. Nobody wants the Jay Leno of phones (G1).

Just read the update, sounds like CF.
