I found both a blister-fender (97-00) Mistubishi Montero and the Flat-fender SR version(with the locking rear diff), easily within my driving distance, which never happens. Also maybe sotra pretty much of within my price range, if I bust my ass at work. More amazing still!

I have never had faith in a 4 pot sounding “good.” I understand why it’s important marketing material but I think it’s a lost cause. Modern regulations mean most hot cars have a tubo-muffled, multiple catalytic buzzy note. I’m fine with it just being fast and comfortable.

A Box Three nine speed or even Box Four 8sp is a great deal whether it’s the cassette or groupset, I think.
