I relate hard to your mom. If I am at my parents’ house for a visit, my dad will watch me like a hawk whenever I eat, clear his throat whenever I go for seconds, and loudly describe the caloric value of everything I put in my mouth.

It SHOULDN’T take a familial relationship to understand how to be a decent person. Unfortunately, it often does. :\
For a lot of guys, it does, and not automatically either. This is the world we live in.
I have the same problem with bras. Stores only stock plus sizes with a choice of DD or E cup. It would be easy to believe based on what’s on offer that my shape simply does not exist. I am the small boobed unicorn.
My mother is similar, though without an eating disorder. She is constantly talking about how fat she is and how old (she’s 61) and terrible she looks. She has also said she can’t be happy while she’s “fat”.
AGH YES. I have broad shoulders and chest, but a small waist - so anything that fits my shoulders/chest (size Large, ALWAYS) just hangs there and gives me pseudo-pregnant-belly. So frustrating. I shouldn’t ALWAYS need a tailor for EVERYTHING. :(
So GOP, how are we going to pay for all these fetuses you are protecting? Raise taxes? Cut military spending? Eliminate corporate loopholes? Naw. Let’s cut Medicaid, education and healthcare funding for well baby visits because nothing says “We care about precious life” like fucking over actual children.
Fuck you House Republicans. Seriously, I’ve had it. And the fuckers who voted you in too.
If you have the patience, you can learn to do some simple tailoring for yourself. I personally can’t tailor pants beyond hemming, but I’ve taken in shirts for myself and my husband, fixed holes, shaped a couple of my dresses (I have a waist now, and want to show it off, so I bring in the waist of the dresses that…
because they are completely unhappy with themselves and then they see people who are happy, maybe people they think are even worse then them and it drives them fucking crazy. People who are happy don’t shit all over strangers.
I think people who aren’t happy with themselves get jealous of those who are. It’s pretty pathetic.
SO deeply agree. Return of the 90s fit-and-flare style in the last year has been the best thing that’s happened to me in the world of clothing for decades. Now you can get curvy fit-and-flare dresses everywhere, not just in rockabilly plus styles. Suppose it doesn’t help the jeans shopper much tho :(
They have free shipping and returns, so it’s almost like being at a store...only for weeks instead of minutes...
I’m not plus sized, so I probably don’t know what I’m talking about, but have you tried Asos Curve? Their stuff looks really good, and I’ve generally had good luck with most of Asos’s products.
That’s a very good point. Even well-meaning designers fail to realize that women over a size 14 are still pear shapes, apple shapes, and hourglass figures.
I’m with you 100%. Also v. hourglass and if I am going to get anything that fits over the boobs and butt, it tends to look like a sack in my middle. Cinched pants don’t make for a flattering silhouette.
I’m an hour glass and, because I work in an office by myself, I live in leggings and three stretchy Levi’s skinny Capri jeans from Target that fit really well. When I go into or have to work around the public I wear dresses. That’s the easiest way I’ve found and it works for my area. I gave up on jeans and pants…
After working in the business for about a year, I’m endorsing Acetone removers. The non-acetone formulas are garbage. I use 100% acetone at home and it works like a dream, I would never go back to the old formula.
As long as he didn’t speak - I’d lose it.
I overheard a manager at burger king tell an employee who worked there that they had to wear a long sleeve shirt because they had psoriasis.i reported that to corporate with links on how psoriasis isn't contagious and how what she was making him do was ridiculous. I got an email back from the company but it might have…
