I guess I should have held out a bit longer. I picked up mine 2 months ago for a bit over $23k. I still got it for $1,500 under MSRP, so I guess it’s not awful.
Which is better? A current gen Sport with the 2.4L N/A and 6-speed manual or the new Sport with either the 1.5L or 2.0L turbo and 6-speed manual?
Volvo’s also remained committed to the massive, vertical taillights they’ve used since the 700 series, though now they have incorporated a horizontal element as well, and when the taillights are on, they describe a pattern that sort of reminds me of ancient Scandinavian runes.
Umm....no one has posted this yet?
I experienced something similar to this first-hand last year on flight to India.
Umm...the cars are designed to crumple so the passengers do not.
Wait. A government is making claims but has no evidence to back it up?
Are you sure emissions regulations killed off Mazda’s piston engine alternative? Are you sure it wasn’t the poor quality, horrible reliability, massive oil consumption, lack of torque, and poor consumer perception?
And what happened to all those piston engine alternative? They were used as marketing toys then shelved. Why? There was no reason to explore them further or put into production.
True, but fuel economy is a much lower factor. J.D. Power puts it at number 8/10 for consumer wants. Let’s face it, if Americans truly cared about fuel economy we would not be flocking crossovers that get worse fuel economy, handle worse, perform worse, are slower, and in some cases have less cargo capacity than a…
What stops you from being competitive utilizing an existing architecture if all you care about is power and not emissions or fuel economy?
Ya know, #45 claims the regulations stifle jobs with no real evidence. As an engineer working in the engine industry, I always wondered how many jobs would actually be lost by rolling back emissions regulations.
Well besides any legality issues....the fact that it is morally wrong. Then again, that hasn’t stopped any of the other moronic executive orders
Yeah, I think it’s called CARB + 10 now for the other states that comply.
So your choices are now either the hatch with a good looking front-end but a frumpy back-end or a sedan/coupe with a good looking back but a tacky chrome front?
Am I the only one that sees this?
Well, you sure got your change. I hope you’re enjoying it because no one else is.
yep, I sure did. Thanks for the catch.
Great article. Thank you. I appreciate you reviewing the history of the treaty and its importance then and now.
