I might get snob-bullied here, but that new Ryan Adams self-titled is completely solid, impeccably produced, and achieves exactly what it set out to do—meaning, it might be cheesy, but he absolutely knows that and he nailed it.

No one "really cared about" the Star Trek films? Or Super 8? Pretty dubious. This new film could be in worse hands.
