Just some minor things that were bugging me reading this.

There was a countdown to Evangelion article in Newtype magazine, for example. It was the cover feature the week it debuted.and had regular articles...so much so they could afford to release a book of them (newtype 100% collection) in 1997...

Of course Anime fans knew of it, at an anime convention, when it first came out. Hype is entering the pop culture lexicon and being exposed to people in ways they never dreamed of, a la Game of Thrones. Have to admit, first time I watched Shin, and heard the EVA Angel battle music, i about shit a brick thinking about how amazing that would be!

As much as I LOVE Godzilla, I would pick EVA over it any day.

The ending sucked bc they ran out of money, that’s it. The show wasn’t anywhere near as popular when it was still running as it is today, hence all the rebirths and whatnot trying to do the story justice, but still missing the mark one way or another. If you watch the End of Evangelion instead of the last 2 episodes…
