This is (and will probably always be) the bizarro-Fincher movie to me—not in style, perhaps, but certainly in tone.  It's a very playful movie, one that sends you down this crazy fucking rabbit hole and then yanks you out when you least expect it.  Somehow, it straddles absurdity, parody, and legitimate sentimentality

The HD-DVD looks better than the DVD, yes, but the upgrade is so minute that it's barely worth noting. We need a remastered HD offering of this one.
