Or it’s a matter of the very longstanding notion - stop me if you’ve heard this before - that the national anthem and the flag represent all we hold dear in this country that the military is sworn to protect.

There is a wide gulf between not calling someone an uneducated bigot for having a different emotional connection to flag cermonies and not recognizing that tacit acceptance of racism does not deserve “a cookie.”
I know Deadspin and this series of websites have no issue with the protests during the anthem, and that’s fine. (I personally am not bothered by the kneeling)

The most authoritative study I can find states that blacks and hispanics are more than fifty percent more likely to experience some form of force in interactions with the police. https://scholar.harvard.edu/files/fryer/files/main-july_2016.pdf
And not to trigger the BLM people’s hot takes, but that (and the Freddy Grave case) proves to me that its not a white cop vs.black male problem...its out of control cops of any race vs.civilians of any race.

For what it’s worth I think MLB would be better off with a 100 game schedule, and the NBA with a 60 game schedule. They would lose too much money, so it’ll never happen, but it gives more of a breather for the fans and every game is much more important. With a 100 game baseball schedule, every loss hurts. Badly. Every…
