For me it’s “Stickshifts and Safetybelts” by Cake. I played it on repeat back in the day when I had a single cab Chevy 1500 WT. Good times!

“The coupe’s rear end steps out, and it starts sliding toward the inside barrier.”
As a cyclist (both road and MTB), I am constantly reminded of how dangerous American roads are for us. I see a story like this pop up on my local cycling groups about once a month, at least. We had a local man killed last year while cycling. He was a retired veterinarian and rode about 15k miles/year.
Not really. 2.0 performance stuff (tunes, exhauast, etc) are out there but nothing for the 2.5l hybrid AFAIK. Most of the hybrid threads on the Maverick forum are about hypermiling and comparing mileage between models and whatnot. Hopefully, I’ll be able to see for myself...one day. I’ve got a lariat hybrid on order.
If you don’t know where all of your guns are located, then you are not a responsible gun owner. I know where mine are and the most accessible one is in a locked safe that will send notifications to my phone when it’s opened or tampered with in any way.
I’m a fan except for the size. That thing looks tiny, even in the front seat. We’ll have to wait and see, I guess.
A major issue for the Mexican Government is, ironically, the flow of guns from the U.S. to these cartels. As much as our politicians complain about the flow of immigrants and drugs from Mexico, there is a reverse flow of guns to Mexico. And in the U.S., we have 1st graders now shooting teachers.
Why EV trucks, though? I mean, I’m a supporter of all things EV but trucks just don’t make sense. With the existing battery tech, EVs don’t do truck things very well (like towing, for example). Plus, to get a somewhat decent range (in the summer), automakers have to put massive batteries that push the weight of half…
I don’t know that it will. From the reviews I’ve seen, due to the sloping roof line, the rear head room has been significantly reduced.
People don’t understand hp and torque curves. That’s why they’re impressed. I work in the industrial sector and getting clients to understand the relationship between HP, torque, and motor speed is one of the most difficult parts of my job.
Don’t forget about Charles’ crashes. He had at least two races where he fumbled it during the race. He crashed while leading in France and spun while in 3rd place at Imola, costing him valuable points. Not to mention his FP2 crash in Mexico, which while not during the race, certainly impacted the race weekend.
I drive a 2017 Passat (139K and counting) and I thought the exact same thing.
Awesome! Nice work ladies!
Yea but every little percentage helps in R&D. Look at how far Mercedes fell this year after winning the constructors last year. With that win, they had the least amount of wind tunnel time of any team during this season and it hurt them pretty badly at the beginning of the season. For Red Bull, next season is going to…
Road diets. Traffic calming. Better land use. Restructure our zoning laws. Get rid of “stroads”. You cannot employ interstate ideologies to local roads. It’s too dangerous. People will drive whatever speed they are comfortable regardless of the actual speed limit. Roads have design speeds. Lower the design speed of…
I’ve always preferred the clownshoe variant (wife is not onboard, unfortunately) but this one is priced to sell. NP!
Yea, I think you’re on the right track with this thinking. The issue is that in conditions where the wet tire would be the best option, they would put so much mist into the air that drivers couldn’t reasonably race.
I dig it. I’m glad they are making a normal-looking EV. Let’s get beyond the idea that an EV has to look “futuristic”; whatever that means to a certain designer. Just make them look good or at a minimum, unobtrusive.
Exactly. I ordered a 2023 Maverick recently (don’t know if I’ll actually get it). I never considered a full-size truck. I am coming from a VW Passat and don’t want/need a full-size truck. We have a couple of 1-ton trucks at our small business that I can use if I absolutely need the capability. I’d argue my neighbors…
I’m glad research and development are occurring but it seems like I’ve been reading articles like this for years. Here’s hoping.
