Oh, I'm just ranting. Dr. Who is still one of the best SciFi TV shows around. And no contemporary Doctor can compare with the one you saw as a child. That's Tom Baker for me. But I'm being silly.

I don't care what the Doctor's name is. I don't care that he is angst ridden over what he did in the time wars and I don't care about his reputation. I just want him to go out and have adventures and take humans with him so I can vicariously experience discovering new worlds.
Social engineering. Who worked with him? Who else was there when he buried it? Are the coordinates on his PC or in his possession? You don't have to know the password to get into a secure system. You just have to know someone who knows the password.
Seems unlikely to me. Recent experiments do show that the photon for example is _simultaneously_ a particle and a wave. Thus ruling out interpretations that depend on the wave function being real. It isn't. Elementary particles are fundamentally neither particles nor waves until they are observed. That, it seems to…
A wibbly wobbly, timey whimey link?
"I am tired of Earth. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives."
There is a guy who built his own induction powered contact lens with LED. He took a bit of *very* thin copper wire, attached a tiny LED to it and embedded it in a contact lens. It worked.
Yes, very likely it was going to come down anyway so they let the fire fighters train putting it out.
We'll fix it in post.
Oh, so you were the person who watched that movie.
What's *really* terrifying about the oceans is that no one has cleaned the bottom of the fish bowl in a VERY long time. Given the right conditions the oceans can flip and everything that is down there comes up topside.
Yes I've heard of the prime directive, it's CONQUER, SUBDUE and ENSLAVE. And also, if they were here we'd have to know it. Since we know that FLT is impossible they'd have to travel in giant colony ships that could transport their entire civilization. If FTL really were possible, it's not but if it were then what…
There is no way IN HELL I am clicking on any of those videos.
Are we all using Brit slang now? Is that a thing? I find myself saying "maths" lately.
Yes I saw that and it kind of prompted my comment. Tom Baker is and forever will be my Doctor. That's what I want. Romana too. Oh and Adric. I want them to bring back Adric only do him right this time. Make Adric nearly equal to the Doctor. I'm never going to see any of those. It's going to be Mofitt from now on.
Isn't Nature beautiful?
The usual denialist idiocy:
Yes, it is supposed to be someone who is a contrarian just to wind people up but in practice it tends to be anyone who believes differently than the majority position in a blog or forum.
I agree. I'd like a to see some science fiction shows for once. Sadly, they don't make those any more.
This is all so very meta. Can I just have a Doctor Who that does things instead of contemplating his own navel? You know, you go out, have adventures, take some friends with you and then you're done.
