And yet Einstein was not an atheist. He believed in Spinoza's panentheistic god.

Well, that is a myth, religion and science are not *necessarily* in conflict. But it isn't a scientific myth. More like a cultural one.
Pet peeve, there is no such thing as micro or macro evolution. There is no such thing as Darwinism either. There is only evolution, which is that the origin of species is through decent with modification by means of natural selection. There is no other process.
I wonder if they are going to release their beard technology to the general public? There's a lot of scary beards out there in the wild.
The last one with the little girl in the white shift is creepy. The proportions are bad. Looks like the artist just pasted an adult head on a child's body.
Sex is a conspiracy by gametes to make more gametes.
I don't measure the maturity of a show by how "dark" the plot is. I measure it by whether or not the characters are real adults so for me the most mature sci-fi show around today is "Alphas". Gwen and the other members of Torchwood were real adults with real adult issues. The Doctor's companions rarely are. The…
Not only is Nikola Tesla's belief in eugenics "not popular" today it is also FALSE. Tesla is not a hero for geeks, he is a hero for nutcase conspiracy theorists and free energy loons.
Ok, fair enough. I agree about the magical thinking and general lack of any science. Though some of the situations have been more character driven and I like that. I'm not sure how the show would fair if it were more faithful to science. That tends to just not capture audiences. People want their fantasies.
Some species of lizards consist of all females who reproduce by parthenogenesis. Can you really be called a lesbian if your entire species is essentially a single cloned individual?
It's a children's show. It isn't really made for adults. Though some adults have glommed themselves on to it anyway.
Doctor Scrooge discovers the true meaning of Christmas and is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and.... future.
Both scripts sound like crap. Hey, how hiring a real writer next time? Is Harlan Ellison still writing?
Sure but we can comfort ourselves with the knowledge that there are around ten to the five hundredth power universes. So a *truly* advanced civilization might find a way to get from a dying one into something more stable.
Anne Coulter is a poo flinger. That is ALL she does. Her speeches and articles have ZERO intellectual content. Would you want Geert Wilders to speak at your University? How about Anders Brevik?
Even ordinary dogs have far better hearing and smell than we do.
How about "Speakers at University should be actual intellectuals and not poo tossing bigots"? There *are* conservatives who are less odious than Anne and who can assemble a valid argument that at least does not immediately fall apart.
Jon Swift, the blogger not the dead writer, though they are both dead now, only Jon Swift died more recently than Johnathan, anyway.... let me try that again. The blogger known as Jon Swift was the true master of satire of recent politics. http://jonswift.blogspot.com/
There are anti science folk on the far Left too. The Sokal affair has not percolated down to everyone.
Mother Goose is also horrific. Same with Hans Christian Anderson. All children's tales are horrific because that is what the world is. Understanding that is part of growing up.
