Good point.
Good point.
I agree with you here, but would a large company be able to have the same model that Tesla, a tiny company by comparison, has?
Tesla is a relatively small company though. What works for them might not work for FCA or GM
Would it work well for a huge automaker though? I think that's the real question. Don't get me wrong, it's a good idea, I just don't see how that would be feasible for a company like Ford or GM.
Gotcha. Not all indie shops do warranty work though. Also, not all indie shops are good. Not all dealerships are horrible. Every stereotype has exceptions. I'm not attacking anyone, just asking a question.
That's fair
I wouldn't unless it was under warranty and I didn't have to pay for it.
I think that's great. But see my reply to Mr. V12VantageS
That's really cool that Tesla does that, but do you think that a huge company like FCA or GM or Ford would go to the trouble to do that? Especially for cars that cost a quarter of your Tesla? I think it's a cool idea, I just don't think it'd be feasible for such a huge company to do that.
Haha yeah. It just seems like both dealerships and independent repair shops are hit or miss. Not all dealerships are bad, not all independent repair shops are good. All I'm doing over here is asking questions
I worked at an independent Porsche shop for two summers and he had a customer with a GT3RS. Something went wrong with it, and they thought it was the clutch but it ended up being a flywheel. He wouldn't touch it because it was still under warranty. I just don't know how all this works, that's why I asked about it. It…
Just for repairs under warranty, right?
I actually worked at an independent Porsche shop for two summers. They wouldn't do warranty repairs though would they?
Not necessarily disagreeing with you here, just want to play devil’s advocate. Where would you get your car serviced? Would dealerships effectively turn into repair shops? Or would you have to ship your car off somewhere to get it fixed? Don’t get me wrong, direct buying sounds great, but what about service?
Been listening to Sirius XMU?
We just recently got my mom a loaded Santa Fe. It's nice and I think it looks good, but I think there's just something off about the interior. Just can't put my finger on it like you said
I wish we'd drill here so they wouldn't have us by the balls.
Grew up going to Orange Beach with my extended family every summer. We went to the Naval Air Museum almost every year and saw the Blue Angels practice once. Good memories.
They have a great Instagram account. They also cover ALMS races, for which their photography is exemplary. You should check them out. https://instagram.com/stanceworks/?h…
I have the 5.4 in my F-150. Even with the stock exhaust it sounds 60000x better than this
