I feel like I could write an entire dissertation just on King’s opinion of Kubrick’s The Shining. His feelings for the movie are simultaneously understandable (he was writing from a place of real self-loathing & therefore is super defensive about it) and totally wrong (Kubrick was absolutely right that Jack is an

“Lifetime of evidence against it” is a weird way to phrase it. It seems like Bowie had a lot of sex with men in the 60s and 70s at least, but went back and forth on how he’d label or consider himself.

Claiming to be bisexual or fascist (despite negligible proof of the latter and a lifetime of evidence against the former) was part of the act.

I can’t speak on Aqua Teen, ( never watched show) But removing the Boondocks episode is so fucking stupid. So are we getting to the point where black people can’t make fun of racism? I bet a white person made this decision.

The Furry community is a weird mix. A lot of them are very open sexually and very accepting of people of all races and creeds but their are also outliers. Including the Nazi furries, homophobic furries and the MRA furries. I feel like part of it may be that Furries were jokes to so much of the internet that some of

Can you smell what the Rock is coughing?

I’d be open to a female Black Panther but I think Okoye would suit the mantle best. Shuri is super smart but not suited for physical combat.

I would counter that Neil Patrick Harris is the only member of the main cast capable of pulling off the kind of performance that actually supports the film’s satirical aims. Van Dien, Richards, and the rest come across as earnest rather than deadpan, and that undercuts the entire thrust of the movie.

He’s fine. He only has like two scenes (...right?) and in the last one, his eeeevil black trenchcoat does most of the work for him.

Receiving meat without having to work it off the bone is sloth, which is one of the Big Seven, baby. See also: crab meat and lobster tails.

The biggest issue with Poe in TLJ is that he was pretty much right and wasn’t so much an arrogant flyboy but as someone who’s struggling to keep the Resistance together against the illogic of Leia and Holdo’s strategy, or lack there off.

As a huge fan of Boyega, I’d go so far as to call it pretty fucked up that he’d criticize the toxicity of the fandom and then play so completely into their hands. Rian Johnson is a good person who tried to do right by the characters, and to insinuate that he has anything to do with these problems when Abrams had the

I think TFA got reevaluated a bit in the wake of the TLJ backlash and ROS disappointment. At the time it came out, it felt more like a safe, competent episode than a load of fluff that wouldn’t come to anything; and the unwritten sequels were a tantalising well of possibilities and expectations.

Dang it. I would watch if it were Carano. Not sure about Rousey.

Sounds like a job for Gina Carano or Ronda Rousey.

Under a bridge at an unspecified location, Tom Arnold bolts upright and shouts “I’m in!” without remembering exactly what he just dreamt.

(insert obligatory comment about True Lies still not being on Blu-ray here)

They should make this a True Lies tv series.

Who would have thought he’d be such a big dick?

This is a genuine question (good start, I know): What exactly is the argument for replacing one actor who only half-fit the ethnicity of the character with another actor who half-fits the ethnicity of the character? If this is truly about casting performers to reflect the identity of the role...aren’t we just as far
