The criminals cheapened their own lives not the cops or people posting.

I’m sure safety was priority number one after stealing another vehicle at 4 AM.

Then you lack awareness.

Yep. No pity for these three lifetime-prisoners-in-training when there are millions of other good people dying for no good reason at all.

There is no “letting them die”. There is “impossible rescue".

Yeah, because they wouldn’t be out stealing cars and running from the police in the first place.

All the driver had to do was pull over and face the music.

Yeah. The family is looking for a payday is what the local news is reporting. The three girls have rapsheets and were no angels. Don't run from the cops in a STOLEN car. They would still be here.

I read a Facebook comment from a woman who was a firefighter with search & rescue as well as high water rescue experience. She said she wouldn’t have been comfortable going in the pond either.

No, the teens didn’t deserve to die, but it was their fault they are dead. The cops don’t deserve to die because of the teens’ recklessness, either. Attempting a rescue would have been too dangerous, and I’m sure that “letting them die” was a difficult decision.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes

They deserve whatever they bring upon themselves. A high speed chase that ends up in a pond with no chance of rescue is par for the course.

No one is saying they deserved to die. Everyone is saying that the actions of the girls directly caused their deaths. Not because of the inactions of the police.

Indeed. Also 7 arrests at 15 years of age? These girls have been pushing their luck, and it just happened that their luck ran out that night.

“Deputies went to the home of Kristine Hayes, Miller’s grandmother, who had legal guardianship of the teen, on the morning of March 31. Upon hearing what had happened, Hayes was “extremely emotional and visibly shaken,” investigative documents say.

It's relevant when a family is trying to smear the police department and their deaths were in the commission of a crime.

Want to bring up to everyone that this is in Florida, in a murky pond, at night, right after a big water-disturbing commotion.

I wish I could star this more than once.

All choices have consequences.
