Solid advice! Especially since if you say it’s about to be stupid, you’re priming the other people’s brains to look for everything that’s going to stupid about it.

That’s awesome, Yannick! Ill be around to watch if I can.

Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate it! I think there are people out there who want to change, but sometimes they feel stuck and just don’t have the tools they need, so I hope it’s helpful for them.

The updates this patch to the try mode are awesome.

Haha. I’m not sure if it can be hit once it’s in flight. It can be blown up before it takes off - everyone inside just gets stunned, sadly.

The first game I used it my team said, “So cool!” It was a lot fun to use, but it feels like it’ll be a little game breaking since you can grab your entire team. Looking forward to using it more when the Morales queue time isnt 25 minutes!

Don’t know if you play it, but HoTS recently added some extra reporting options. For awhile there wasn’t an option to report someone intentially feeding and that kind of thing. It’s a definite improvement.

That’s awesome that person apologized! It might seem easy, but it can bre really difficult to do. I hope your sister had a fun time with it.

That’s pretty ridiculous behavior. Good job focusing on yourself and not feeding into a guy like that.

You might feel like you’re rambling, but you’re dead on. Unless we make the effort, our brains just ignore the information that goes against what we believe. So let’s say I’m a bad player but I believe I’m great. My brain’s going to ignore everything that says I’m bad, and when people tell me so, I’ll have to defend

Good catch - you are completely right. I could probably do another article just on that - If you’re in a situation you perceive as unfair, it triggers stress. If you feel everyone’s ganging up on you, it can trigger that, or even if you’re playing against a character who’s OP (or if you just see them that way). In

If there’s anyone to be patient with, it’s yourself :) I hope this article’s able to help, and if nothing else, give the Labeling technique a try.

Praying is actually one of those things that’s shown to be truly relaxing and relieve stress.

Haha, that does sound really stressful!

I don’t either. I think for some people it’s just their default way of being... which sounds like a pretty unhappy way to live.

It’s all our negativity bias: It’s only matter if you got 20+ kills - yeah, then “you rock!”

When you put someone into a category like that, you’re screwing them and yourself. If we assign someone that kind of label, our brains are going to find any information it can to confirm that and ignore the rest (confirmation bias).

Haha, true! But I don’t think that would’ve sparked as much discussion ;)

Have you read Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman? If you haven’t, he has an amusing anecdote about Israeli military instructors who were firm believers in negative reinforcement despite the evidence Kahneman brought forward. For him, he knew it worked because when someone did very very badly he would yell at

Yes! Great, powerful, video. Bookmarked. When I was going through my coaching training, my instructor used a variation on this with the phrase: “We don’t know who discovered water but we know it wasn’t fish.”
