No, no, you were right the first time, the episode is Halloween-related.

It's embarrassing how long it took me to realize that his foster mom is Vasquez from Aliens.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the bait and switch there, too.

Agree with all but the Jim/Pam bit.  The reason Jim didn't tell Pam he'd joined the business is because they'd already talked about it and decided that he wouldn't do it, and he'd prefer this deceptive decision to meet with some success before revealing it, which I find perfectly reasonable.

You know, as much outrage as there is over the "out of order"-ness of the airings, all Fox did was drop the pilot and move Shindig and Safe back in the queue.  Which, given most fans' opinions of Safe (combined with the fact that you can't move Safe without moving Shindig, 'cause of the cows), is at least somewhat

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus   I certainly didn't mean to imply that I thought he was worse.  I need to rewatch this episode and remember what is stated about the scheme and what isn't.  Is his original agreed-upon delivery illegal for sure?  Is it because the science behind the organs is illegal?  I just don't remember.

Sure, that makes sense in the abstract, but in this instance Mal had to know how his orders would be perceived by Woodward, and to choose to not fill him in seems either deliberately naive or deliberately manipulative, neither of which is particularly characteristic of Malcolm Reynolds.
