So the title should be the "ultimate grocery getting machine?"
So the title should be the "ultimate grocery getting machine?"
Then they should see "The ultimate driving small car." Not, "The ultimate driving thing in the whole world ever."
I don't know how else to take "The Ultimate Driving Machine" except seriously or sarcastically. They could have made it "The ultimate driving car" but nope, they had to say it's the best driving thing there is.
My point is they are selling all of their roadgoing cars as ultimate driving machines. To say a 1 series or an X5 is an ultimate driving machine is just silly.
BMW's road cars described as the "Ultimate Driving Machine."
That's not true. What it's saying is the average GM product on the road is about 5 years old. Whether or not the model has been redesigned is irrevelant. For example, say I buy a 2012 CTS. Reguardless of the fact that the CTS hasn't been redesigned since 2007, my CTS is one year old. This means the graph doesn't…
Seeing as this is mostly a British audience I was wondering if anyone believes Clarkson's snarky American and Europe stereotypes or their "American cars lack quality, refinement, etc."
Sorry this is 22 days late. I just discovered the inbox feature...
For anyone who doesn't get it, these videos were meant to teach engineering students that they can sound smart without actually knowing anything, if they just string together every intelligent sounding word they know. Here's the same script but with a different prop.
I mentioned in a reply that Liters per 100km (or in this case gallons per 100mi) doesn't really give any more efficiency insight and instead makes it a hassle to get anywhere.
Yeah, but that's only convenient when solving for the gas used over a nice distance.
Insulting people doesn't solve the problem.
Here's my two cents on the show..
Could anyone explain, or show a picture of what he means by "Nostrils?" I'm having a hard time picturing what it was exactly he did to the car.
My problem with it is that it says nothing about the car or the company. The Imported from Detroit ads worked because they laid out a clear company philosophy. The F150 ads like the one pictured, I think are some of the best ads ever. Not really because they're entertaining, but because they fulfill the purpose of an…
Grim Reapers aren't all that uncommon in car commercials
Oh man, that can't be unseen now!
No one seems to get this, but F150 is just the project number of the car. The 458 was called the F142 when it was being developed. Ferrari couldn't even name it's F1 car an F150. They'll never name a production car that.
No one ever agrees with me on this, but the 2011 "Miss Evelyn" Camaro commercial was such an awesome commercial. It broke the 4th wall, it had jumps, chase scenes, and hay. Seriously, what's not to love.
What would have been smart is back when Jalopnik was planning this DLC pack with Forza, they should have asked their "What are the best cars not in videogames" QOTD and created the DLC accordingly.
