Why is anyone surprised? Automatics are quite a bit faster than manuals now. For a dedicated drag car, I’d be surprised if they made a manual.

Production cost does drive pricing. Production cost per unit is quite high for low-production manual transmissions.

I have zero issue with this....as a manual only driver for the last thirty years, I have been saying for a while that I would gladly pay for the opportunity to have a manual when car shopping
