This, at least as far as internet recorded race car sounds go, is unbeatable.

You made a Lamborghini Islero reference, you're my new favorite person. The Islero is tied for the #2 spot on my Lambo list...

I was going to reply something like "it's not that bad!" but then I remembered the time it sat at the shop for 14 months without getting fixed... or the time it sat in the drive way so long that ants built a giant ant-farm between the hood and the suspension towers, or the time the mirror fell off while pulling out

That is awesome. My 928 hasn't cost me much lately, but there isn't anything left to replace!

I hope they never run out of Miuras to photograph and sell. I need to be alone now... also viper green 911s don't hurt :)

Ok, yeah, I do like this livery...

Yes to the Aston!

As a Porsche dork (leaving for Stuttgart in 26 hours!!!!) I went to grab a shot of the RS Spyder, but nope, it's just not pretty, it's cool to see in person and to boggle over all the details, but pretty, nope, it's a tool, a competition crushing tool, but it ain't pretty.

Daytona Prototypes!

911 GT1 from 1998

Porsche's flat-12 from the 917/30 5.4L + turbo == 1200 HP.

So can I watch this on tv? I'm too lazy to search for myself.

Yeah, they were built light, light light! What impresses me is all 13 908/3s are still around, the owner of one told me none had been totaled. Then I got to push it into his paddock stall at VIR. It was so cool.

The 908/3 was probably the most extreme of the "feet as crumple zone" porsches... the sway bar was mounted / part of the dash board!

This is the corner where I made my first ever pass in a race car :) go go DOSBoot, my LeMons GTI!

Where do I get the full res copy of this fantastic photo? I have a 30 inch monitor that needs a new background and this is the perfect thing.

7 or 8 years ago I got to do a drivers ed event at one of these old NC tracks, Rockingham. I was a lot of fun, coming around the banking and letting the car head out towards the back straight wall at 100+ was a rush. They had set it up so we had an infield portion so it was like doing laps at a very mini Daytona 24

What is double clutching? How is it done? Is there a video of somebody's feet doing it? I drive/race stick and I still don't know what this exactly is!

I will help if I can drive it from time to time :) shit, i'd help just to get to touch it!

Hehehe, My transmission was like this for 20 years, I finally rebuilt it 3 years ago, and my god it's a whole new world. I was tearing through the gears at Laguna Seca and it was glorious, I mean I still had a trow a mile long, but thats part of the charm. I wish the car was still in NC so I could take VIR's Oak Tree
