Aside from lavish visuals, which admittedly are VERY interesting and pretty to look at, Thor 4 is creatively bankrupt. There’s no real advance from what Ragnarok did; in fact in a lot of ways it hits all the same beats as Ragnarok, all over again, but with Russell Crowe talking about orgies instead of Jeff Goldblum

On the contrary! Take a look at the official French translation of "The Last Jedi": https://fr.web.img6.acsta.net/pictures/17/10/10/04/58/2061488.jpg

Surely I'm not the only one who assumes this is all staged?

I don't understand why Atomic Heart gets pilloried for being a pro-Russian game but Escape from Tarkov gets a pass.

I’m personally a fan of that Venn diagram format they use and which gets updated every so often, showing who has the movie rights to which Marvel characters.

The thing about Dungeons & Dragons, at least in the Forgotten Realms setting anyway, is that it’s supposed to be at least a little silly. A movie that focuses on the jokes is fine so long as it’s sold as a comedy and the audience knows what it’s getting. If a person wants a serious fantasy movie, that’s what LotR is

Also:

The GBA games are in a collection, but the DS games are not.

I think if we want to reduce the amount of crunch that devs endure, we can’t expect to be able to wait a year and get triple-A titles for €40.

She does in the comics, though.

BPWF was good though?

Out of curiosity, and since it’s a more interesting and productive discussion: what would you say IS the best looking rain in a video game? Everyone else: same question.

Needs more Newman.

Well I mean it’s definitely a black dragon, there’s no question about that... the question is whether the black dragon is now undead, ie a dracolich. The only indication on the poster that it’s anything other than a black dragon is a small amount of wear and tear on the wings which MIGHT be indicative of it being a

The Mandalorian is less like Star Wars and more like Firefly wearing the trappings of Star Wars, where Baby Yoda is 100% River Tam and The Mando is Zoe’s deadpan badass mixed with Simon’s overprotective big brother/dad (with a sprinkle of Mal’s “I totally meant to do that”). And Carl Weathers plays Carl Weathers, but

I think the idea he’s trying to communicate is that many corners of DCU is gonna be kid-friendly and possibly quite bizarre, and so when a creator comes to them and says “I have an idea for a movie using a DC property, but I want it to be super-serious Oscar bait stuff and I don’t want it to have to share a universe

I dunno about that. Stylistically at least, Luis's monologues are very reminiscent of Shawn of the Dead's "Shawn explains his plan to head to the Winchester and wait for this all to blow over" monologue.

Honestly, whenever I hear about the changes that occurred to the first Ant-Man movie, what strikes me is that most of the parts I liked the best are the parts Wright objected to.

There was enough of a news story here (Cornish having an interview that gave new insights into the creative process behind one of the more contentious chapters in Marvel’s behind-the-scenes history) that it could have been told without the superfluous and frankly ham-handed attempt to tell the reader what to think.

True.
