I’ve always wanted to do the length of US 6 from Bishop, CA to Provincetown, MA (I’ve heard it described as “from nowhere to nowhere”).

  • Each team must pay a base price of $556,509 when they apply to enter for the season. That cost rises each year in line with the US Consumer Price index.

Hands down one of the best ad campaigns ever. I love it.

Rule of thumb in the U.S. is that laws generally don’t apply ex post.

Mitsubishi has said this will be the most well-equipped vehicle it has ever offered in the U.S.

Not really. That money comes out of the police or municipal budget - I can at least, conceptually, understand an argument about how that can motivate change (whether or not you buy it is a different story).

Do you seriously think the LAPD went out and bought these on their own?

Few things are more fun than this. Haven’t gone out for a flight in, I don’t know, seven or eight years. I’m envious.

I’d fly on a MAX that hadn’t been fixed tomorrow, as long as the flight crew had been properly informed of MCAS and its operation. Not a big deal, as long as they know what they’re doing.

What makes you think airline employees (or their estates) don’t sue carriers if/when they are injured?

...and the logo stayed on the car why? They just forgot to get rid of it?

That was my first reaction - “is this idiot playing with a flamethrower on top of a massive CNG tank with people underneath?”

CA has one too:

Whoops! You’re right.

+ 1 for the CA UCLA plate. I read once that it’s the least requested plate the DMV has - they came close to killing it off once, apparently.

If I see a VT license plate, I just assume that someone’s playing residency games with a sham LLC.

I’m by no means implying that he’s not an incredibly talented driver etc - but it’s not much of a negotiating strategy to say I’m going to go to Red Bull or whatever. Mercedes’ car is so dominant that they’d kick ass with several other drivers. Is Bottas really the second best driver on the grid? I don’t think so.

Nothing but a contract negotiation tactic. It’s not like the guy can play other teams off of Mercedes (“Give me what I want or I’ll go to Hass!”? Fat chance), so all he can do is threaten to leave F1 all together.
