They have two final assembly lines, yes.

I’m the last person to be a Trump apologist, but it’s not like anyone (including most on these boards) knows a damn thing about the airline industry anyway.

The FAA blacklists airlines which have never flown and will likely never fly to the US all the time. The standards don’t change - if the regulator is category I, then all the airlines are considered safe. The slot story has nothing to do with it, and alliances have zero bearing on safety and the like.

Honestly, I’d sum it up as the Chinese simply being competent.

There’s been one serious Garuda accident since 2002 - and it paralleled several accidents that have happened in the US before and since.

Do us all a favor and spare us the xenophobic commentary.

Yeah, that’s the very high end of the scale.

There isn’t a single Chinese airline that’s blacklisted by the US or EU. China is a Category I country.

The statistics don’t agree with you.

No kidding. Blasted through an intersection that had three (!) cruisers and got away with it...

Fantastic read.

How about these fake exhaust tips in general? They’re everywhere now, and most are from factory.

No. Those exist, I’m afraid, and they’re as obnoxious as they sound.

It’s an airline industry blog. I’ve read it for years.

His website is an airline industry blog.

Never thought I’d see anything about Brett here are Jalopnik. Excellent!

Perhaps. I’m thinking of the brands themselves, though: I could see Jezebel or Kotaku rolled into another site.

I’d say that Deadspin, Jalolpnik, and even Gizmodo will survive (as brands, at least). There’s value there.

Well, it’s been a good run.

The folks buying new freighters have a need for long-distance ops which can’t be achieved with anything else. They’ve also got deep pockets.
