Its laughable to believe Microsoft wants anything to do with Bobby Kotick or honestly the vast majority of staff at Activision.

As someone who is invested and understands NFTs

“As a very smart person who knows lots of things, let me tell you about how smart I am and how many things I know. I am very smart about things that you are not smart about, but no, I will not explain how the smart things I know are actually smart or useful, you’ll just have to trust me about how smart I am.”

Horizon: come for the dinosaurs, stay for the well-developed and thoughtful political and social commentary.

art and visual polish is usually the last step

Just because Step 1 doesn’t solve the entire problem doesn’t mean you don’t take Step 1.

Yeah he should resign, but would that actually fix any of the issues? There will always be a new Bobby Kotick until the system itself is changed.

They ripped off a bunch of people with a $60 cash grab remaster that doesn’t work last week, topping off 6 months of anti-consumer shit against mods. Kotaku has been posting 10 articles a day about it since last week.

Or he’ll resign and get a nice fat parachute for it.

At least he's taking pressure off of Rockstar today

I don’t disagree, but Metal Gear has also seen what appears to be deliberate contempt from the studio that owns the rights to it. There’s probably stack of letters which included warning that this was about to happen all forwarded to one Pepe Silvia.

As a diehard Shenmue fan...

The games aren’t MCU-related. Whether it’s MUA3 or Insomniac’s Spider-man.

The comments on this story are a fucking septic tank, but the people who’ve decided to use their limited time on this earth to publicly declare their opinion that this video game company is probably lying about death threats for clout really need to do some serious introspection.

It’s a fucking video game, I don’t care what they did or didn’t do to link their game to Silent Hill, it’s just a fucking video game. Death threats are never called for, especially not over a piece of entertainment. Because it’s just a story, it’s just a game, or if you want to deconstruct it more, its just a goddamn t

Again, see: every 2D fighter since Street Fighter 2.

Activision ain’t going anywhere. The company is worth too much money. They will implement some changes, accept a fine that to you and me will seem huge but will be a drop in the ocean to them. Give it a year max and their stock will be worth more than it was before all this stuff kicked off. Capitalism baby!.

The big scam is that there’s nothing inherent to the NFT which gives you any rights whatsoever. You are NOT buying artwork, you are buying a receipt that says you paid money for artwork.

Now, it is theoretically possible for artists to bundle licenses or rights transfer of some kind WITH their NFT, but there is

It’s a scam because an NFT is not actually selling the artwork; it’s selling a receipt that absolutely nobody is legally obligated to acknowledge or respect. It’s like if I tried to buy the Mona Lisa, but instead of giving me the Mona Lisa they show me a slip of paper that says “you now officially own the Mona Lisa”

Oh wow flying in a Horizon game would be incredible. Maybe they’re waiting for it to be the next big gameplay reveal?
