The show itself was terrible but the PS4 Pro is exactly what I thought (And what rumors said) it would be. I don’t own a PS4 yet so I would buy a Pro. It seems like a lot of people were disappointed in the console itself even though it’s been clear that what they showed is what it was going to be. A lackluster

True but I would assume consoles will be on a 3-4 year cycle. PS4 was 2013, Pro is 2016. Microsoft seems similar. Scorpion will be out next yr

Exactly. The only thing I can say is that instead of early release cycles like phones, consoles will be every 3-4 years instead of the usual 6-7.

You do realize iPhones and Android phones get better SoCs with every new version of the device? (SoC stands for system on a chip. CPU and GPU on the same die. Oh hey the chip in the PS4 is an SoC) The shift in strategy being more like mobile literally was talked about by Microsoft’s Phil Spencer.

The strategy is still the same and Microsoft has hinted at this.

Why? This wasn’t supposed to be a new system. It’s still a PS4. Were you expecting a PS5?

This was a bad conference. I think Sony wasn’t ready to announce anything at E3. At the same time, just putting up a blog post probably wouldn’t have been better.

Same thing happened when they went with the lightning port. The point is you can still use your current device. It’s not obsolete. You can upgrade if you want, or you can keep your device and get the one after that.

Honestly this is part of the reason why I think they had this conference instead of just doing a blog post. Sadly, I feel like it didnt help.

Sadly you have to say things like this for the average consumer. Trust me, Ive worked retail.

Honestly, they probably had nothing to show.

By the logic Apple just split the user base by announcing the iPhone 7 (It didnt. The user base is fine like usual).

“Why does it hurt?”

He possibly just came clean?

I wonder if this means they will be putting more money towards Marvels console games since they are no longer developing games themselves. Keeping Disney games mobile and games like the new Spider-Man on consoles.

(Speaking of: of all the people in the world to make into a CGI character, they chose Lupita? Come on, Star Wars, put her in front of the camera!).

Literally none of this is true. I am an old (Born in 81) and an animator. In the 80s and 90s characters were more detailed but moved like shit. They were also farmed out (Korea). Look at the intros to the 80s show (Thundercats, Transformers, Tiger Sharks, Silver Hawks) then watch an episode. No were near as similar.

Legendary Kinja here folks

Im at work and a portion of your post was on my screen. I was afraid to keep scrolling

Most people would probably use it moreso for PS Now
