They is literally Disney's single biggest problem. The MCU made Disney a much bigger corporation than it was (in revenue). Once a corporation gets bigger it can't go back to being (relatively) smaller, at least not if executives want to keep their jobs and the value behind their stock options. So the problem becomes

Eight to ten years ago, Bob Iger said something about "brand deposit" movies... that is, movies intended and designed to maximize viewers' long-term brand loyalty, and fuck any HINT of artistry being prioritized. I know Hollywood has always been a business and any art that emerged was entirely incidental, but I don't

Its like this person didn’t even read the article. Let me recap a little for them. The US is DIRECTLY responsible for suppressing Haiti’s indendence by not allowing them to trade with other countries, invading them multiple times, and stealing money right out of its bank. And that’s just what is mentioned here. Why do

Nothing like going to Ghana for the first time and hearing how the American CIA supported the coup that took out Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah. Our response, “Yeah, that sounds about right.”

And how was that system set up. “The Haitians did it to themselves” is exactly what this article is debunking. Too bad you can’t understand that.

After learning of that connection i’m glad my account is with a good local bank.

One of my mother’s co-workers is Haitian and he’s recently ran into some trouble regarding his citizenship, here’s hoping it all works out for him.

Also speaking of Papa Doc, guess who supported him? Mother-fucking-Theresa. So anytime

Half of me comes from that “shithole” country. I made it a point to get familiar with the history of Haiti, and even I learned something new after reading this because I wasn’t aware of the Citibank connection. This is just further proof that the US really was built on the backs of slaves and racist fuckery.

I highly, highly recommend everyone read The Black Jacobins, which is generally considered the best book about the Haitian Revolution. And I would also recommend the Revolutions podcast part on the Haitian Revolution. Not nearly enough people understand the fascinating and historical history of it and how the US

>Would it be a crazy suggestion that we instead also make boys obsess about being likable?

Weirdly enough this is one area where having mild Asperger’s is a huge advantage... I’m always earnest, never sarcastic, and so sensitive to ways that other people accidentally hurt my feelings that I take constant, extra care to never hurt theirs. And I’m well-socialized enough for people to have absolutely no idea

Where the hell do feminists get stuff like this? I'm pretty sure I was right there at etiquette class with my sister. Since when were men not taught to be likeable. This is some grade A bullshit.

I agree the state of modern mentality is misguided. I'm honestly unsure if it is only the younger generation that acts on these impulses, but I do know that something must have taught them that such behavior is acceptable. Sometimes I think people use racism and threats as a means to either get attention or to feel

I would argue the opposite. "Gamers" are not over- the term has been hijacked by infantile, loudmouthed fanboys. Real "gamers" are those of us who grew up with industry, playing Atari, then Nintendo and Sega.

Most of those comments belong in #itsnotaboutyou. It's about the concept of privilege, explained through a metaphor. Not about your life and experience. Okay?

MY ANECDOTAL EXPERIENCE COMPLETELY INVALIDATES THE CONCLUSIONS OF THIS ARTICLE!!!
