I have complained about the lack of a quick save button on console games for a long time. So with all the rumors of Microsoft's and Sony's crackdown on used game sales via there next gen boxes Nintendo's archaic strategies are starting to look quite appealing. If they can manage to keep the multiplatfom games on there system it might be a big advantage for them going into the next generation.

I agree it might not make full use of the engines capability's but as long as it can run the same games (albeit a little uglier) that's all that matters. It worked well for the PS2.

Not sure where you heard that. I just got done doing the review roundup that I do before I make a purchase, and all seemed way above average. The only negatives I've heard are the controls have a bit of a learning curve.
