Season one of American Crime had more clear resolutions with the characters if not the actual crime it's self. I didn't love the slam poetry cold open. A single profile or frontal shot of the speaker would've been enough, seeing the audience and their reactions felt like it was trying to telegraph how I should feel about the performance. felt preachy.
