This is what lawyers get paid to figure out. I assume given the legal situation around this in MI, this is not THAT unusual of a situation there and every attorney practicing in this area knows all about it. Shit happens all the time.

I’d say it was because there was this one time that reportedly someone ran away from the police and then was accused of committing some horrific crime afterwards, but we all know it was enough that at some point a Black person actually got away.
