The casting might be a nod to Montoya, but the character of Maggie Sawyer is Superman’s police contact in the modern era comics. Although she’s not Latina in the comics, she is lesbian.

Uh....that whole Mon El/Legion of Superheroes thing has the potential for serious timey wimey.

Sadly, Ms. Carter was never that strong an actor, although she was passable in the 70s. I hope she steps up her game and commits rather than reciting her lines. ..although it may have been a failed attempt to mimic Hillary’s over prepared delivery. (Don’t get all defensive/offended, I’m just sayin’.)
