That’s a great story in the newsletter, but it doesn’t necessarily make Chris’s story bullshit. Chris never said that his dad was the pilot that flew the plane, but rather that his had fixed up the plane so it could be flown to Delhi. The other parts of the story (such as getting it to Tijuana) match up. 

Seems like this is all bullshit. A man named Stu Nelson who flew for TWA from 1952-1985 was the one that ferried that plane to India.

I have a delightful image in my head of that airplane with a mismatched-color-wing sipping fuel from a jerry can all the way to India, while this guy’s father and his mechanic friend steer it with a pair of vice grips, screaming to each other YEAH IT FLIES GREAT!
