I am back to my junk Moto phone after a year of employer-provided iPhone. Gotta say - the iPhone is truly an incredibly useful gizmo that shows an incredible amount of attention to detail - and it adds up, every day.

IE 6 sucked when it was new. Now it is just an embarrassment.

I'm pretty sure that IE6 usage is entirely accounted for by inertia and businesses (which are slow to adapt) but it will so good to see it die.

People still use Hotmail? Wow. Haven't seen any usage in years among my associates.

Preview on Mac. Since I use VMware, there is no need for PDF in my very small and sad Windows world.

Oh, darn. I misread the headline to be "Shutdown your Windows PC PERMANENTLY from Linux".

Hmmm... nothing to make me want for a replacement for my white MacBook. It's about as small as I can stand it, goes with me all the time.

I must say that in all (and I mean ALL) of the businesses I have worked with, Outlook is used only because "that is what you use for business". Little, if any, thought was given to the choice and few, if any, advanced features were ever used. They might as well have used any arbitrary system for all the good it did,

OS X doesn't support full screen like Windows does as a design choice. However, in FF3 on OS X you can select the green "Maximize" button in the upper left and it goes from one end of the screen to the other (which actually violates common behavior, but oh well). Then click the little "Hide Toolbars" oval button in

I manage Windows development projects at work, where Vista has caused our CEO to migrate to Mac OS X in disgust.

Since I use Windows less and less, Safari on Windows is really kinda nice. Much quicker than FF for me and it's been very stable.

I have had to do this sort of thing at least 50 times. It can work, but it's a pain.

For me it is always about fun, creativity and personal satisfaction. Getting money is rarely much of a problem, and I have changed careers several times just to see what things were like. Life is short and I have no time to be bored or frustrated. I like plenty of risk and the chance to try new things.

You're still using Windows??

I use Track Changes in Word, but when there are a lot of small edits the document can become very cumbersome to read, sometimes almost impossible. Some automatically generated items such as table of contents can become very messy indeed, with insignificant changes crowding the margins as page numbers change, etc.

"Sick of not being able to exit Finder?" That's a bit extreme. No, I don't want a quit command too easily available for the system file browser, any more than I want Explorer to go away when I am stuck on Windows - I use those things!

Amazing. I haven't needed IE for anything at all for over 2 years and use FF on Windows, Safari and Camino on Mac. The only usefulness I can see is to test websites, but that is it and the end of it.

The cost differences here are too small for me to give up the support and aesthetics of my Macs. I tend to use my machines at lot and they occupy prominent places in my life (and that of my family as well).

Spotlight is fantastic. In Tiger Spotlight would slow down if you had a lot of files to index, but in Leopard it is just fast, fast, fast. It feels like an order of magnitude improvement.

Looking forward to Time Machine and Spaces most of all. But there are likely to be some more subtle items to discover that may in the end be the real treat.
