Eternal Darkness x1000. The sanity effects are so terrifying because you think that the game somehow is controlling your console or TV.

Eternal Darkness. The sanity effects are great, the entire game wears down your nerves. And while there isn’t all that much tension, because you have a bit more control over yourself than in most terror games, the game maintains a level of unease.

Ive never heard anyone else mention this game, but this was my multiplayer go-to as well. Weren’t there a few other playable characters to unlock, but there was some very high bar to do so? A ninja...?
