I love that Mazda has always pushed the envelope with their ICE technology. Both the Miller cycle and rotary engines didn’t exactly succeed, but their SkyActiv engines are somewhat (much less so) novel and are doing extraordinarily well. I hope they are able to tackle EVs or hybrids with the same ingenuity.
