The tool you used in the article can be dangerous, the plastic handles can snap off quite easily. Especially with a modern steel belted radial.

Crimp and seal connectors are all you need... I haven’t soldered in years.

The “stout” extension just lowered your max tongue weight by quite a bit more than you seemingly realized. You should have just used the 1 1/4 receiver and kept the tongue closer to the rear axle of the car to increase stability.

You should include a step for wax and buffing...On an older vehicle, you’re more likely to see the paint faded from the sun. A quick wax with some polishing compound will make it less noticeable and remove gunk build-up from years of washing.

They don’t offer any collegiate accreditation and many of the skills
