So far it has been working, since he has spent almost no money on advertising at all, while someone like Jeb! has to crank out the ads as fast as possible to get even a little air time. All Trump has to do is say something outlandish loudly and repeatedly and he gets free air time on the 24-hour news cycle and a point

Agreed, spill it!

The difference is that while you a in theory a rep for the company, your primary job was to make a sandwich. If your primary job was to walk down the street and tell people how great the sandwiches are, you can expect some feedback from customers, satisfied and otherwise.

One of the 7 core Army Values is Integrity, which was defined as “doing the right thing even when no one is watching”. It sickens me that these people can be so blatant as to only help people when it makes them look good.

I’ve said for a long time that if McCain had won the nomination in 2000 then I would actually have had to really make a decision about who to vote for (he seemed much more sane than he did 8 years later). That was about the last time that the GOP put up a candidate at any level that I could even bring myself to have a

This was my take on that, too, although I didn’t really think about it until later. Too focused on Glenn’s “death?” to pay as much attention to Rick’s scene in the RV. The next day I was like “Oh crap, that was Judith’s baby food!”

+1 for the Forbidden Island/Desert pair of games.

I was angered, then saddened by this story when I first heard about it. The picture of a bright and motivated teenager wearing a NASA t-shirt in handcuffs somehow really affected me in a way that I couldn’t describe at first.

I want to try Chicken Salt. I hear that’s really good, too.

I think the “go-to” spice tends to be something that you grew up with.

My wife and I refer to ID as the “murder channel” and she sometimes gets hooked on it for hours at a time. If it wasn’t for ID and one or two other channels then we could probably cut the cord.

I hate shopping for shirts. I’m short (5’5”) and stocky, so I have a big neck, barrel chest, and short arms. I could probably play Gimli for Halloween if I grew a beard (note to self, put together a Gimli costume...). Shirt manufacturers assume that someone with my dimensions ABSOLUTELY MUST weigh at least 350 pounds

It’s called CARC paint and it is super durable.

How good are these cameras? I’d like to get a couple and use them for recording my band from different angles during our shows, but I want to make sure that the low-light quality is good. I have a Zoom camera that is designed for concert recording (the audio is phenomenal) but the video gets really grainy in low light

todo.txt has an android and iphone app, and it syncs over Dropbox. It doesn’t have as fancy an interface as Todoist, but it is a solid todo app. If you are offline, it will sync the next time you open it and are online.

Ask anyone who works in admissions, advising, or other student-focused support department of a University and they will tell you that helicopter parents are the worst.

When I was 16, I worked in a store in Texas and I wasn’t even allowed to help stock the shelves/beer cooler when the stock department asked for front-end help (baggers).

My cousin’s son saw it when he was a teenager and thought it was stupid and unrealistic. I didn’t have the heart to tell him “yep, that’s pretty much what it’s like being in a line Infantry unit with a bunch of 20-year old kids”. Lots of testosterone and screwing off when not actively training or fighting.

I’d say that having a goal and working toward that goal are two different things. In my opinion, Scott Adams is basically saying the same thing as this article’s title. Keep the goal in mind but focus on doing the work that will lead to the goal. Seinfeld has the same philosophy with his “don’t break the chain” method.
