My wife and I refer to ID as the “murder channel” and she sometimes gets hooked on it for hours at a time. If it wasn’t for ID and one or two other channels then we could probably cut the cord.
I hate shopping for shirts. I’m short (5’5”) and stocky, so I have a big neck, barrel chest, and short arms. I could probably play Gimli for Halloween if I grew a beard (note to self, put together a Gimli costume...). Shirt manufacturers assume that someone with my dimensions ABSOLUTELY MUST weigh at least 350 pounds…
I really hate the fact that moves are considered flops unless they triple or quadruple the money spent on it within the first weekend. With international sales, DVD, Netflix, Amazon, TV, etc... even “flops” will make a ton of money eventually, and once they have paid for themselves it’s just free money to the…
Does XM allow you to listen to its channels via the web? I think that would be a compelling adition to their service. I don’t own an XM radio but I would pay $10 a month for that.
But does your toaster really whip the llama’s ass?
It’s called CARC paint and it is super durable.
How good are these cameras? I’d like to get a couple and use them for recording my band from different angles during our shows, but I want to make sure that the low-light quality is good. I have a Zoom camera that is designed for concert recording (the audio is phenomenal) but the video gets really grainy in low light…

todo.txt has an android and iphone app, and it syncs over Dropbox. It doesn’t have as fancy an interface as Todoist, but it is a solid todo app. If you are offline, it will sync the next time you open it and are online.
As long as he has consummate V’s for scales.
We found an old US recoilless rifle in Fallujah in 2004. It was mounted in the back of an old 80’s civilian Jeep. A thermite grenade into the breech disabled it nicely.

Ask anyone who works in admissions, advising, or other student-focused support department of a University and they will tell you that helicopter parents are the worst.
When I was 16, I worked in a store in Texas and I wasn’t even allowed to help stock the shelves/beer cooler when the stock department asked for front-end help (baggers).
My cousin’s son saw it when he was a teenager and thought it was stupid and unrealistic. I didn’t have the heart to tell him “yep, that’s pretty much what it’s like being in a line Infantry unit with a bunch of 20-year old kids”. Lots of testosterone and screwing off when not actively training or fighting.
I’d say that having a goal and working toward that goal are two different things. In my opinion, Scott Adams is basically saying the same thing as this article’s title. Keep the goal in mind but focus on doing the work that will lead to the goal. Seinfeld has the same philosophy with his “don’t break the chain” method.
Check with the pharmacy. My wife found out that if the doctor calls in a 3 month supply then there is a co-pay, but if she picks it up once a month then it is free. You may be in a situation like that.
The Javelin has superseded the Dragon as the AT weapon of choice. It's a really sweet bit of tech that lets you paint the target and then fire and forget. It also switches from a direct-fire mode to an indirect top-down mode to hit the tank on what is probably the weakest armored point (the roof of the turret).
Belgarath became a wizard when he was told to move a rock, not a tree.
