I think it was far more blurry than that. This one has all sorts of grey areas: restricting the elderly or mentally ill from having sex, even when it is desired and pleasant for them vs. criminalizing sex with a partner who cannot give informed consent. When things are very grey (seriously, no pun intended) I think we

That’s a rapist waiting to happen.

Yeah, the laws against marital rape are relatively new. It wasn’t a crime in all 50 states until ‘93, and they weren’t reformed so that marital rape and non-marital rape were handled the same until later.

Ohhh okay. :)
Yeah, some idiots still think that, but thankfully the law is not on their side.
(The fact that some people still believe that is super enraging though.)

There could’ve been a number of reasons — no eyewitness testimony, for one, because the roommate who said she’d heard sex sounds was supposedly separated from them by a curtain and was so uncomfortable talking about sex on the stand it was hard for her to even say what she’d heard. Also, although Rayhons’ semen was

because all her doctors said she was no longer able consent due to diminished mental capacity. so any sexual activity he engaged in with her following him receiving that information (which they have a record of him receiving) was rape. there is no legal grey area here. why he was found “not guilty” i do not know.

I mean, that’s literally not a statute in any state. Spousal rape is illegal in all 50 states. So legally, no, that was not the reason he was acquitted. But it could have played into it.

Probably. Also she had passed so she couldn’t aid in the trial or case, not that she really could have if her Alzheimer's was that bad in the first place.

an 11 week aged fetus is about 1.6 inches long. a lime is bigger. there’s barely even a skull. here’s a somewhat creepy (because i think tiny skulls are creepy for various reasons) illustration of fetus skull sizes:

My great great great great grandfather or whatever invested in mustache wax instead of coca cola and that’s why I’m here instead of on my own island in Figi.

I’m not a direct descendant, but I have an uncle several generations back who might be labelled a serial killer today. Not a huge body count—5 or 6—but respectable for the late 1800s.

One of my ancestors was a fish.

This. It’s not like Affleck actually owned slaves or was condoning slavery (as far as I know). You can’t change or choose your family. Oddly, it makes him look bad because he was trying to hide it - not because of what he was trying to hide.

We have a Grand Wizard or Dragon, one of those high ranking KKK guys somewhere way back in the family tree. Not the proudest moment and not something we bring up but he’s there.

My grandfather was probably definitely a Nazi.

If you’re trying to say that there’s no difference culturally between a childhood/adolescence/young-adulthood where the world views you as a boy, and same where the world views you as a girl, I really can’t get with that. It isn’t true.

Wtf?!!!!

Or...

For example:

Why do you need to label something that's safe?
