@My X-type is too a real Jaguar: I see one every couple weeks or so—I'm always behind it on the same street, at the same red light—I wonder if it's a ghost car.

@cobrajoe: My favorite part of it all is that I see more SVT's now that regular Contours.

@SerialThriller: Yeah, you try forgetting this (I should know, I've tried to forget it many times):

@Jagvar: Agreed. One of my dad's friends has one, and he saw it and asked me why I didn't tell him to look at Hyundais when my parents got a new car. Personally, I don't know why he's disappointed with the 250-hp base-model Charger they got for 21 grand.

@pidgeonsplatz: My grandparents had an '86...which they sold when Grandpa couldn't drive any more due to...Alzheimer's! I laughed out loud (it's much easier 13 or 14 years later) when I read your comment and remembered that 74-hp, navy blue sweatbox (It had A/C; I don't recall it ever working.)

@64deville: My grandparents had one, in navy blue. I can still remember how it smelled. I also remember my mom telling us to "Lean forward!" to help it out every time we went up a hill.

@duurtlang: I didn't even notice that. That's hilarious.

@Pessimippopotamus: Color me grandiose, but that may be the best-looking 1800ES I've ever seen.

@duurtlang: Wow! I just wikipeida'd the 480. A Volvo with Lotus suspension, and Renault engines, tuned by Porsche, with a Garrett turbo! And it doesn't look half-bad either! Do Want! Thank you, my Dutch friend! Lots of Exclamation points!

@brachial_plexus: Thanks, Matt, and congrats, Nurburgring—I should have known it was you!

Oh, come ON Matt. You just picked it because your name's in it. :)

@mdp310: You beat me to the punch. Until I saw the picture, I thought someone had converted the old Fiat factory. Then I saw the picture, and I would've bet money it was in Dubai. Then I read the article.

So he gets one of these?

@zbeeb: Um, unfortunately Mr. Newman can't be there to accept this nomination in person...

@oddfish: You just made my day. Heart-clicky.

Blimplopnik?

It's official Professor Slowmobile has been exposed!

OK. These Toyota unintended acceleration jokes are seriously getting really old now. Seriously.
