Stanced.
He looks to be snowshoeing, actually. Good thing he has that cute service dog there in case of difficulty. Thinking ahead, he even packed a spare dog for the journey, which is excellent preparation.
Did he stage a fake accident? No.
Did he mock Schumie's condition? No.
Was he insensitive? No.
Hey media, why don't you go do something fucking useful for once in your miserable lives? Save baby whales, feed the homeless, reflect on how bad your jobs are that you look for useless crap like this and shame on the public…
Reminds me of Rush. "Tell the Priest to fuck off, I'm still alive"
There's something about a sweet BMW NA I6 that must be experienced to be believed. I didn't understand until I got my E92 3-series coupe. It features a MUCH tamer N52 I6 that produces a whopping ~230hp and ~200 lb-ft torque, but it definitely loves to sing all the way up to its ~7000 RPM redline!
In the E9x M3, you could get the coupe with the carbon fiber roof, and save 11 pounds over a normal metal roof, or get the hard-top convertible, and add ~500.
The gearbox will score higher with you if your Father put in a UUC short shift kit. It greatly reduces the throw, as long as you can live with the notchiness. It's a superb car all around, and one that he'll (and maybe you, if he's crazy enough to loan it to you again) enjoy for a very long time.
Once upon a time, BMW could call its cars the Ultimate Driving Machine without people rolling their eyes and laughing. It's a bit harder to swallow in this era of diesel M cars, bizarre naming strategies, bloated designs and slow-selling oddballs like the 5-Series GT. Thank God for the E46 M3.
Conspicuously absent from this review is any statement noting that the convertible weighs nearly 400lb more than the coupe...
Nice writeup!! I agree with Matt's (?) comment about SMG — it's awful around town. The stick is the right transmission, even though it is a tad rubbery. Back when this car came out, it was excellent, but of course things have moved on.
Has your dad had any issues requiring Carmax's help yet? I know that car had…
510.... in rwd with a real 6 speed....
No mention of the BMW i8 yet?
Mustang
I typically don't use this term but...
Small steps, man, small steps. Don't push us too hard.
See, guys, BMWs do use turn signals
Alex, until this event you were the record holder. You clearly beat Richard Rawling's time by a long shot. I hope you choose to perhaps try to break the record again and regain glory for yourself and BMW. Your ///M5 is a work of beauty.
Richard, I love you so much, even moreso after our phone conversation on this very topic a few days ago. I generally keep my opinion private and only publicly state positions I can back up. You remain one of the only people whose word I take on faith, but...
