Unfortunately, I don’t believe this is the case on my contract. I went so far as to do a little research to verify this, since your insistence made me question it. It is basically a contract to provide people qualified to support the FAA employees, so that the FAA doesn’t have to hire people directly. It looks like

Except they aren’t even trying to cut that 500 million. They are trying to suddenly divert it from one program to another, as a moral punishment to an organization that does something they don’t like (with other funds, since they only receive about 40% of their funding from all govt sources).

I’d still say it is more on ‘Uncle Sam’ than the contracting company. In this case, the company bills the government for hours I spend working on a government project. The feds say I can’t go into the federal facility and work, so the contract can’t bill those hours. So, there isn’t much the contracting company can do

Those numbers really perfectly illustrate the fact that these guys show about as much respect for tax dollars as they do for toilet paper. $2.5 billion in losses from the last shutdown... and they are going to do it again over $500 million of funding that is only loosely tied to the issue they are up in arms about.

Good to know. I’m still holding out some faint hope that my generation will start to turn the US around... but it’s always good to have a backup plan.

So what are these fields, exactly? Are they trucking in programmers, by any chance? Just wondering. >.>

Must have been a big change from Pandemic 2, since I don’t see anyone screaming furious curses at Madagascar and/or Japan.

What I gathered from this is that I need to open a clinic near the airport here for treating flight-related stress. Cha-ching!

I don’t think anything anyone could manufacture would ever beat that.

I don’t know if anyone else has pointed this out, but the vertical line in the women’s graph has a very reasonable explanation. Every woman I know turns 39 a good 5-10 times in a row. So it makes sense that there would be a similar pause in the age of their desired partner. Then they eventually turn 45 and the process

Today I Learned that sorcery is a nonviolent crime.

Essentially, the government has to approve a budget for the next fiscal year. Without passing this law saying the government can spend X money for Y things, it has no legal bearing to spend money. Our federal legislature consists of the House and Senate. This budget law must be created and passed in the House, and

Just a response to the people who are saying this affects nobody. If this does in fact lead to another government shutdown, plenty of people will be affected. Govt contractors like myself will be out of work for the duration, and unlike federal employees who get paid retroactively, we do not. Then there’s the

I’m pretty sure you’d get a pretty sizeable following for this. Just make sure to disable the comments.

A bit crude but here we go. Just let everything in the green bordered area go, and we’re golden. Hell, we could even give them more, and just keep the bluest coastal/lake areas.

Unfortunately, you have to study the past to learn from it. And a large part of these constituencies give no fucks about no learnings, and/or come from areas with indoctrination camps in place of school systems.

Damnation... now I need some butterscotch krimpets....

“not the spouse of the offender”

That’s exactly what all the cheaters out there say. We’re on to you, mister!
