Good question. Based on video and photos from super old games, seems like it is a case of “it was just always that way.”

Siakam is the sort of guy you want to go to the literal ends of the earth with.

One of Thib’s last acts in Minnesota was signing Luol Deng. Because of course it was.
Anyway, he’s been surprisingly OK, even hitting some threes, but every time I watch him put it up it seems too damn flat.

There are gods, and they are cruel.

Well, I sure hope Stevens never needs to be carried from the top of an evil wizards embattlment, or from a high mountain Erie after dying and coming back to life, or off the side of an active volcano after tossing a cocainified gold ring that imbues feelings of grandeur and ultimate power into its belly.

I’ll be honest, I thought of him as a Rocket first, Raptor second. But his Orlando years probably outdo both.

Context? Other than this post of course.

I really do enjoy, however, the fact that they appear to have convinced no one but themselves of whatever it is that they do want.

Others have sorta said it already, but to put a fine point on it McGrady played three years with the Raptors, and they were the first three of his career.  Highest average PPG was 15 in Toronto.  In looking back on his career its surprising that he isn’t associated with Orlando more often.

    Absolutely.

Dang.  I guess I am not surprised, given that my friend hit two in a fairly short stint (oil boom in North Dakota slowed).  Multiply his run out to 30 years, and I suppose it would be close to 20.

Not to go full “David-Brooks-psychology,” but we come from an area of the country heavily influenced by Nordic stoicism.  Talking about how one feels is not really discouraged, because there is no point, because you just don’t talk at all.

I have a buddy who, for a while, was a train engineer.  He had two people commit suicide by train.  He seems unaffected, mostly, but I am guessing that’s a bit of bravado.

Yeah, I think he has no idea that’s how he looks.

    Didn’t Stipe alread beat him?

    Jesus.

Brutally honest, Dante3000.  Maybe consider sugar-coating it.

    Good point.

I mean, they are employed by the company. Presumably some of their salary is for doing podcasts, but who knows how that is structured.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of revenue by podcast. I assume the Bill Simmons Podcast gets the most because it is the only one currently in the top 100 the most popular
