Is iRacing the absolute best in realism? Might not be, but the racing structure they offer is what makes it worth every penny. I've tried other sims and have yet to find anything that can compete with iRacing's racing structure.

It's pure ignorance. If you want to tax CO2 emissions you should tax fuel, because whether you burn 1 liter of gasoline in a Prius or in a Bentley Blower, the emitted amount of CO2 is (roughly) the same. Taxing the possession in stead of the use of a car is silly, especially if your goal is to further the environment.
