@thetickler: You only put it on the left seam? Not the right side? I actually get the bar drop issue to happen holding it in either hand.

@Norbs: I think the way it goes is that you're connecting the two pieces together. It's a gap and your flesh is now conducting when pressing on the gap.

Do I get a free bumper?

@They shoot horses, don't they?: Interesting. I've got an update too. This issue doesn't happen to me when I'm at my friend's place. But it happens to me while I'm at work. Two very different locations, miles apart from one another. And both times, I start off with 5 full bars.

I tried this just now, about 4 times. It does it for me.

@iElvis: It seems to depend on your location. When you hold it in a good location, no bars drop. When you hold it in a bad location, bars drop. And in both locations, starting off with 5 full bars.

@MarsBZZZZZZVUVUBZZZZZZELAAAAA4...: It depends on your location. Good location, no bars drop. Bad location, bars drop. Even if both locations show all 5 bars at first.

@Alexander Horre: It depends on your location. If you have a strong signal, then it won't happen. If you don't, it will happen.

@vinod1978: The case above from that video is nowhere near on par with this iPhone 4 issue. This problem is far more widespread than previous connection issues or anything obscure and covering the same spots at the seams are identical for anyone having this problem.

@vinod1978: I agree it's based on areas/locations but disagree that it has little to do with how you hold it. The fact of the matter is that when you put fingers/palm against the seams, bars drop if you're in a "bad" area. But if you don't hold it that way while you're still in that "bad" area, bars do not drop.

@Peter Shultz: My thought is that they have strong signals already. Mine is affected by this at work. But it does not do this when I'm at my friend's place miles away from work. Location seems to matter, and that must mean something to do with the signal/connection/frequency. Your friends may be affected and don't

@sravan.manogna: There's a settings in Phone, where you can enable/disable FaceTime. Multitasking was pretty thoroughly explained by Apple, not sure how you were mislead. It's fast-app switching plus apps can do backgrounding using services if devs enable their apps to use them.

@vinod1978: When bars drop, I cannot make calls or get 3G data. But here's the thing. When I'm at my friend's place, I cannot reproduce the issue. When I'm at work, I can. I think it depends on the connection type or tower or something, it doesn't always happen everywhere. Although, I have to say that it happens

TED talks are great. This one was not.

@crmurray04: You actually make yourself sound like a pretentious asshole who questions other peoples' personal value systems because you don't agree. But it's ok if you have your own value system because yours is somehow "more" legit than others?

@They shoot horses: Yea definitely, thanks very much. You should put it up on YouTube so others can view it. Please post the link.

@Shorties: What do you mean awkwardly? I can replicate the issue with either hand, and holding it in a very typical, normal way. Like this picture:

@vinod1978: I'm actually really surprised that you don't have this issue and neither do people you know. I have this issue for sure, and so does one other person I know who has the phone.

@MacAttack: It's bad. It's not just a bar or two. If you hold it in a typical, normal way and hold it there for at least 15 seconds, bars drop to ZERO. And calls and data are no go.
