That seems . . . unlikely. Again, it comes down to the electoral college. Trump has to flip several states from Obama. I find it hard to believe that there are that many Trump voters who are scared to tell that to a stranger on a phone. Has there ever been a verified case of large-scale lying to pollsters?
Most of these polls are 1000 people or less and they are not broken down by state. The news outlets are doing a ton of quick little polls in order to create headlines for themselves. If they really cared about the pulse of the nation, they'd take longer and do much larger studies. They want polls they bounce back…
