Even if this dog is perfect forever, I suspect lots of family members and friends have dogs who may react very badly! What if he visits a neighbor kid with a big impatient dog?!

Could be that it's OK with this patient service dog. But teaching him this is OK means he might try it with some OTHER dog who's NOT OK with it, and get hurt badly.
